This week, the girls moved away from elegant shoots & shot some hard hitting campaigns for charities like Refuge, Frank & Peta. My favourite, for pure shock “Oh my god” value, was the photo Maddie did for Quit [who help people quit smoking]

I am not really a fan of Maddie, but this is wonderful. You look at this & it shocks you. It really makes you believe that smoking will put you in an early, ugly grave. Her pale face, combined with the ginger hair gives a look of Tilda Swinton about her, in the nicest possible way to Tilda.

I was also quite liking Chloe’s shot…the one for Know Your Limits, where she has her make-up all smugged & sick in her hair. I am quickly becomming a fan of Chloe. Boosted by the fact that most of the girls seem to think she is is a WAG in training & do not give her the time of day. I think her new brown hair is far more elegant & really suits her. Let’s hope she stays in; if only to annoy the others like Sophie & Maddy.

I wish I could say I was upset Lauren was voted out. However, I am still unable to tell her & Hayley apart!

I adored this. I bought it based on the line on the back:

My sister called it ‘the year of secrets,’ but when I look back on it now, I’ve come to understand that it was a time not of what was there, but of what wasn’t.

& the cover. I judge a book by its cover. Oh yes, I do. I was not disappointed. It is beautifully written. The characters are well thought out & I adored each & everyone of them. This is rare as I usually end up hating many a character.
I found it wonderful how the events of the day where intercepted with excerpts from the father’s journal & letters. I read at the back that these were taken from the author’s own father’s writings. I find that very special.
I had never read anything by Suri Hustvedt before, but I will certainly be looking out for more.

The current series of America’s Next Top Model ends & I think my Monday nights will finally be free, but no, what do Living do? They start a brand new series of Britain’s Next Top Model. It started last week with 20 girls but by the end of the hour & a half special, they had been reduced to 15 girls.

Jade

The second episode was aired last night & I am slowly learning who is who. My favourite, so far, I think is Jade…I love her quirky glasses & her awkward style. She’s a bit Marc Jacobs chic geek I feel.

I am also becomming quite a fan of Viola. Her look reminds me of Emma Watson. Some are annoyed by her accent & how she blames things on not being able to understand English properly; but I find it charming. I hope she stays in.

Next week is the makeover episode. Cue tantrums & tears. This is one of my favourite parts of the series. I find it fascinating how the girl’s looks can be changed so completely just by giving them a haircut or a new hair colour. Can’t wait!

Chirpy Sparrow is soon to be the new home of Smug Cat. It is currently a work in progress & is not yet live. I felt as if Smug Cat had run its course & was not really looking & behaving as I now wanted it to. Chirpy Sparrow gives me the opportunity to revamp, rework & start a brand new project.

I am very excited by all the newness & hope you will join me on my journey.
